Metro Denver leads the nation in new construction job growth for February 2012 vs. February 2011. This was the largest growth of new jobs in the U.S. 337 metro regions tracked by the Associated General Contractors of America based on their analysis of federal employment data. Metro Denver had the third-fasted job growth of any metropolitan area with a million workers or more when comparing January 2012 with January 2011, according to an Arizona State University study. Metro Denver growth rate was up 2.5%, while the overall growth rate for the United States in the same period was 1.5%, the study said. The actual number of jobs went up nearly 2 million nationwide.
